TikTok is a global video-sharing social networking service owned by Chinese company ByteDance. The platform is used to create short dance, lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos. TikTok was the most downloaded app in the Apple App Store for the first quarter of 2018, and by October 2018, it was the most downloaded photo and video app in the Apple Store globally, with over one billion downloads worldwide by February 2019. TikTok allows users to create short music and lip-sync videos of 3 to 15 seconds and short looping videos of 3 to 60 seconds. The app is popular among teenagers and young adults, with a significant portion of its user base under the age of 30.
